PROVOCATEUR

Like the previous series, A Cheeky Tale, Provocateur takes its cues from Marcel Duchamp’s assisted readymade L.H.O.O.Q. (See A Cheeky Tale for more.) Provocateur works feature single popular Duchamp postcard images that have been increased to the dimension of an oversized poster, employ the halftone dots of mass reproduction lithography, and feature letters beneath. When read aloud phonetically, the punful and Duchampian title makes the viewer say a risqué and suggestive phrase.
