MIXED MEDIA PRINT COLLAGES

This series of mixed media print collages consists of twenty works. Rather than creating editioned prints, my interest was using printmaking to make different but thematically related works. I made twenty unique collages and carved four woodcut blocks. The collages were made with the idea of a particular block being printed on top of it with translucent ink. Different ink colors mixed and used while printing. The subjects include antiquated understanding of science, nature, technology, and media exploration. The collaging and carving was done in my Northern New York studio, and the printing at the Lower East Side Printshop, Inc., New York. Funded in part by Research & Creative Endeavors Grant, SUNY Potsdam, NY.
