OUTER CAPE OVERPAINTINGS

Outer Cape and Maine Overpaintings continue to explore conceptual and material ideas of “Earlier Overpaintings”: the idea of redacting naming and other words from maps to eliminate textual information; visually and technically exploring painting out this information with different paints, paint thicknesses, opacities, &c.; and experimenting with painting washes of color over map information and areas thickly overpainted.
