Dan Mills: US Future States Atlas
and related material

Chicago Cultural Center

Curated by Lanny Silverman
July 14 - Sept. 23, 2012

Mills’s chosen medium of collage has given him the freedom to accumulate visual data from the external world. His experience as a curator has also given him the impetus to follow his pictorial instinct.  He has curated many notable exhibitions of Chinese artists in the late 1990s and early 2000s, during the period when China was entering its current post-Tiananmen Square economic explosion. At the same time, one witnesses Mills’s increasing interest in the dramatic changes that are taking place in the global political landscape, which he is able to internalize and infuse with his keen insights to create a highly personal sequence of constructed imagery.
